Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Sherwood had an population of 3,046 people. This is an increase of 12.27% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 96.52% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Sherwood had a population of 2,713 people (which is 5.54% of the total population of Calumet County). This makes Sherwood the county's 5th most populous community.

The population of Sherwood represents 0.05% of the population of Wisconsin (which has 5,686,986 people), making it the state's 329th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,713 people, the population of Sherwood increased 75.03% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,550 people).

We originally found mention of Sherwood in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Sherwood was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Sherwood post office opened in 1858.

We also found Sherwood in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
