At the time of the 2010 Census, Butler had a population of 13,757 people (or 7.48% of the total population of Butler County). This makes Butler the county's most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 13,757 people, the population of Butler decreased 9.02% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 15,121 people).
