While we don't have a date for the founding of Rawlins, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Rawlins had an population of 8,559 people. This is a decrease of 7.56% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 0.25% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Rawlins had a population of 9,259 people (or 58.29% of the total population of Carbon County). This makes Rawlins the county's most populous community.

The population of Rawlins represents 1.64% of the total population of Wyoming (which has 563,626 people), making it the state's 12th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 9,259 people, the population of Rawlins increased 8.44% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 8,538 people).
