At the time of the 2010 Census, Pinedale had a population of 2,030 people (or 19.81% of the total population of Sublette County). This makes Pinedale the county's most populous community.

The population of Pinedale represents 0.36% of the population of Wyoming (which has 563,626 people), making it the state's 29th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,030 people, the population of Pinedale increased 43.77% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,412 people).

We originally found mention of Pinedale in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Pinedale was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Pinedale post office opened in 1898.

We also found Pinedale on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Wyoming (1937).
