At the time of the 2010 Census, Lyman had a population of 2,115 people (or 10.02% of the total population of Uinta County). This makes Lyman the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Lyman represents 0.38% of the population of Wyoming (which has 563,626 people), making it the state's 28th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,115 people, the population of Lyman increased 9.13% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,938 people).

We originally found mention of Lyman in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Lyman was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Lyman post office opened in 1901.

We also found Lyman on a map titled Map of the Lincoln Highway (1915-1916).
