Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Casper had an population of 57,833 people. This is an increase of 4.55% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 16.5% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Casper had a population of 55,316 people (or 73.31% of the total population of Natrona County). This makes Casper the county's most populous community.

The population of Casper represents 9.81% of the total population of Wyoming (which has 563,626 people), making it the state's 2nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 55,316 people, the population of Casper increased 11.43% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 49,644 people).

We originally found mention of Casper in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Casper was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Casper post office opened in 1888.

We also found Casper in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
