The population of Alpine represents 0.15% of the total population of Wyoming (which has 563,626 people), making it the state's 47th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 828 people, the population of Alpine increased 50.55% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 550 people).

We originally found mention of Alpine in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Alpine was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Alpine post office opened in 1918.

We also found Alpine on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Wyoming (1925).
