At the time of the 2010 Census, Vienna had a population of 10,749 people (which is 12.36% of the total population of Wood County). This makes Vienna the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Vienna represents 0.58% of the population of West Virginia (which has 1,852,994 people), making it the state's 13th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 10,749 people, the population of Vienna decreased 1.03% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 10,861 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Vienna was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Vienna post office opened in 1888.

We also found Vienna in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
