Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Kermit had an population of 348 people. This is a decrease of 14.29% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 66.51% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Kermit had a population of 406 people. This makes Kermit the county's 5th most populous community.

The population of Kermit represents 0.02% of the total population of West Virginia (which has 1,852,994 people), making it the state's 177th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 406 people, the population of Kermit increased 94.26% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 209 people).
