Webster County was founded in 1860. Webster was created by taking area from Braxton, Nicholas and Randolph Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Webster had a population of 8,179 people. This is a decrease of 10.65% since the last Census (which gave a population of 9,154 people in 2010).
