Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Bethlehem had an population of 2,326 people. This is a decrease of 6.92% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 12.26% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Bethlehem had a population of 2,499 people (or 5.62% of the total population of Ohio County). This makes Bethlehem the county's most populous community.

The population of Bethlehem represents 0.13% of the population of West Virginia (which has 1,852,994 people), making it the state's 51st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,499 people, the population of Bethlehem decreased 5.73% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 2,651 people).
