At the time of the 2010 Census, Waupun had a population of 11,340 people (or 12.78% of the total population of Dodge County). This makes Waupun the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Waupun represents 0.2% of the total population of Wisconsin (which has 5,686,986 people), making it the state's 78th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 11,340 people, the population of Waupun increased 5.8% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 10,718 people).
