At the time of the 2010 Census, New Berlin had a population of 39,584 people (or 10.15% of the total population of Waukesha County). This makes New Berlin the county's 2nd most populous community.

We originally found mention of New Berlin in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for New Berlin was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the New Berlin post office opened in 1837.

We also found New Berlin in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
