Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Germantown had an population of 20,152 people. This is an increase of 2.04% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 10.36% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Germantown had a population of 19,749 people (or 14.97% of the total population of Washington County). This makes Germantown the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Germantown represents 0.35% of the total population of Wisconsin (which has 5,686,986 people), making it the state's 39th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 19,749 people, the population of Germantown increased 8.15% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 18,260 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Germantown was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>
