Oneida County was founded in 1885 and was created by taking area from Lincoln County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Oneida had a population of 35,607 people. This is a decrease of 1.09% since the last Census (which gave a population of 35,998 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Oneida represented 0.63% of the total population of Wisconsin.
