At the time of the 2010 Census, Brodhead had a population of 3,293 people (which is 8.94% of the total population of Green County). This makes Brodhead the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Brodhead represents 0.06% of the total population of Wisconsin (which has 5,686,986 people), making it the state's 269th most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Brodhead was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Brodhead post office opened in 1857.
