At the time of the 2010 Census, Augusta had a population of 1,550 people. This makes Augusta the county's 9th most populous community.

The population of Augusta represents 0.03% of the population of Wisconsin (which has 5,686,986 people), making it the state's 561st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,550 people, the population of Augusta increased 6.16% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,460 people).

We originally found mention of Augusta in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Augusta was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Augusta post office opened in 1858.

We also found Augusta in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
