Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Woodstock had an population of 5,252 people. This is an increase of 3.04% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 32.89% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Woodstock had a population of 5,097 people (or 12.14% of the total population of Shenandoah County). This makes Woodstock the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Woodstock represents 0.06% of the population of Virginia (which has 8,001,024 people), making it the state's 63rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 5,097 people, the population of Woodstock increased 28.97% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 3,952 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Woodstock was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Woodstock post office opened in 1793.

We also found Woodstock in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (1803).
