Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Kilmarnock had an population of 1,400 people. This is a decrease of 5.85% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 12.54% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Kilmarnock had a population of 1,487 people (which is 13.05% of the total population of Lancaster County). This makes Kilmarnock the county's most populous community.

The population of Kilmarnock represents 0.02% of the population of Virginia (which has 8,001,024 people), making it the state's 113rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,487 people, the population of Kilmarnock increased 19.53% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,244 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Kilmarnock was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Kilmarnock post office opened in 1804.

We also found Kilmarnock in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
