At the time of the 2010 Census, Tremonton had a population of 7,647 people (or 15.3% of the total population of Box Elder County). This makes Tremonton the county's 2nd most populous community.

We originally found mention of Tremonton in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Tremonton was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Tremonton post office opened in 1904.

We also found Tremonton mentioned on a train schedule titled Union Pacific Railroad Time Tables (September 1924).
