At the time of the 2010 Census, Roy had a population of 36,884 people (which is 15.95% of the total population of Weber County). This makes Roy the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Roy represents 1.33% of the total population of Utah (which has 2,763,885 people), making it the state's 18th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 36,884 people, the population of Roy increased 12.16% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 32,885 people).

We originally found mention of Roy in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Roy was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Roy post office opened in 1894.

We also found Roy mentioned on a train schedule titled Union Pacific Railroad Time Tables (September 1924).
