From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Port Isabel was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Port Isabel post office opened in 1930.

We also found Port Isabel on a map titled Road Map for Texas (from Shell Oil, 1956).
