At the time of the 2010 Census, Missouri City had a population of 67,358 people (or 11.51% of the total population of Fort Bend County). This makes Missouri City the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Missouri City represents 0.27% of the population of Texas (which has 25,145,561 people), making it the state's 47th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 67,358 people, the population of Missouri City increased 27.3% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 52,913 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Missouri City was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<9>

From that list, the Missouri City post office opened in 1897.
