At the time of the 2010 Census, Midlothian had a population of 18,037 people (or 12.06% of the total population of Ellis County). This makes Midlothian the county's 3rd most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Midlothian was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Midlothian post office opened in 1882.
