Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, League City had an population of 107,277 people. This is an increase of 28.38% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 136.06% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, League City had a population of 83,560 people (which is 28.68% of the total population of Galveston County). This makes League City the county's most populous community.

The population of League City represents 0.33% of the total population of Texas (which has 25,145,561 people), making it the state's 39th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 83,560 people, the population of League City increased 83.87% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 45,444 people).

We originally found mention of League City in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for League City was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the League City post office opened in 1896.

We also found League City on a map titled Road Map for Texas (from Shell Oil, 1956).
