At the time of the 2010 Census, Irving had a population of 216,290 people (which is 9.13% of the total population of Dallas County). This makes Irving the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Irving represents 0.86% of the population of Texas (which has 25,145,561 people), making it the state's 13th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 216,290 people, the population of Irving increased 12.88% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 191,615 people).
