At the time of the 2010 Census, Friendswood had a population of 35,805 people (which is 12.29% of the total population of Galveston County). This makes Friendswood the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Friendswood represents 0.14% of the total population of Texas (which has 25,145,561 people), making it the state's 82nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 35,805 people, the population of Friendswood increased 23.31% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 29,037 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Friendswood was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>
