At the time of the 2010 Census, De Leon had a population of 2,246 people (which is 16.07% of the total population of Comanche County). This makes De Leon the county's 2nd most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for De Leon was in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).

We also found De Leon on a map titled Road Map for Texas (from Shell Oil, 1956).
