This is an increase of 12.14% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 13.01% since the 2000 Census). At the time of the 2010 Census, Dallas had a population of 1,197,816 people (which is 50.58% of the total population of Dallas County). This makes Dallas the county's most populous community. The population of Dallas represents 4.76% of the total population of Texas (which has 25,145,561 people), making it the state's 3rd most populous community. With a 2010 count of 1,197,816 people, the population of Dallas has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,188,580 people).
