Wilson County was founded in 1860. Wilson was created by taking area from Bexar, Guadalupe and Karnes Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Wilson had a population of 50,950 people. This is an increase of 18.71% since the last Census (which gave a population of 42,918 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Wilson represented 0.17% of the total population of Texas.
