Orange County was founded in 1852 and was created by taking area from Jefferson County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Orange had a population of 83,086 people. This is an increase of 1.53% since the last Census (which gave a population of 81,837 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Orange represented 0.33% of the total population of Texas.
