Lamb County was founded in 1876 and was created by taking area from Bexar County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Lamb had a population of 12,904 people. This is a decrease of 7.68% since the last Census (which gave a population of 13,977 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Lamb represented 0.06% of the total population of Texas.
