Brazos County was founded in 1841. Brazos was created by taking area from Robertson and Washington Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Brazos had a population of 229,418 people. This is an increase of 17.74% since the last Census (which gave a population of 194,851 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Brazos represented 0.77% of the total population of Texas.
