Potter County

The city of Amarillo is primarily located in Potter County and is the county seat. A portion of Amarillo extends into Randall County.

The county had a population of 113,722 people at the 2000 Census. With it's population of 173,627 people, Amarillo contained 152.7% of the Potter County total.

In addition, where the community of Amarillo has a population density of 1,932 people per square mile [745 people/km²], Potter County averages 125.1 people per square mile [48.29 people/km²].
