At the time of the 2010 Census, Alamo had a population of 18,353 people. This makes Alamo the county's 7th most populous community.

The population of Alamo represents 0.07% of the total population of Texas (which has 25,145,561 people), making it the state's 133rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 18,353 people, the population of Alamo increased 24.34% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 14,760 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Alamo was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Alamo post office opened in 1919.
