At the time of the 2010 Census, Sevierville had a population of 14,807 people (which is 16.47% of the total population of Sevier County). This makes Sevierville the county's most populous community.

The population of Sevierville represents 0.23% of the total population of Tennessee (which has 6,346,105 people), making it the state's 37th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 14,807 people, the population of Sevierville increased 25.94% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 11,757 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Sevierville was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Sevierville post office opened in 1857.
