Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Savannah had an population of 6,925 people. This is a decrease of 0.82% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 0.12% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Savannah had a population of 6,982 people (or 26.83% of the total population of Hardin County). This makes Savannah the county's most populous community.

The population of Savannah represents 0.11% of the population of Tennessee (which has 6,346,105 people), making it the state's 75th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 6,982 people, the population of Savannah has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (which had a count of 6,917 people).
