The location of Phosphate has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Phosphate, you might consider that their post office opened in 1899. While the community is gone, the present day location for Phosphate is 580 feet [177 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Phosphate was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time If Phosphate still existed, it would have been in the (615) area code.
