While we don't have a date for the founding of Trent, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Trent had an population of 229 people. This is a decrease of 1.29% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 9.84% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Trent had a population of 232 people. This makes Trent the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Trent represents 0.03% of the population of South Dakota (which has 814,180 people), making it the state's 228th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 232 people, the population of Trent decreased 8.66% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 254 people).
