At the time of the 2010 Census, Sioux Falls had a population of 153,888 people (or 90.81% of the total population of Minnehaha County). This makes Sioux Falls the county's most populous community.

The population of Sioux Falls represents 18.9% of the population of South Dakota (which has 814,180 people), making it the state's most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 153,888 people, the population of Sioux Falls increased 24.13% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 123,975 people).
