Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Iroquois had an population of 256 people. This is a decrease of 3.76% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 7.91% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Iroquois had a population of 266 people (or 5.17% of the total population of Kingsbury County). This makes Iroquois the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Iroquois represents 0.03% of the population of South Dakota (which has 814,180 people), making it the state's 217th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 266 people, the population of Iroquois decreased 4.32% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 278 people).

We originally found mention of Iroquois in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Iroquois was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Iroquois post office opened in 1880.

We also found Iroquois in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
