While we don't have a date for the founding of Hayti, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Hayti has a population of 385 people<4> (see below for details).

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Hayti had an population of 385 people. This is an increase of 1.05% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 4.9% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Hayti had a population of 381 people (or 6.45% of the total population of Hamlin County). This makes Hayti the county's 5th most populous community.

The population of Hayti represents 0.05% of the population of South Dakota (which has 814,180 people), making it the state's 187th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 381 people, the population of Hayti increased 3.81% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 367 people).
