While we don't have a date for the founding of Estelline, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Estelline has a population of 754 people<4> (see below for details).

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Estelline had an population of 754 people. This is a decrease of 1.82% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 11.7% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Estelline had a population of 768 people (or 13.01% of the total population of Hamlin County). This makes Estelline the county's most populous community.

The population of Estelline represents 0.09% of the total population of South Dakota (which has 814,180 people), making it the state's 110th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 768 people, the population of Estelline increased 13.78% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 675 people).
