At the time of the 2010 Census, Delmont had a population of 234 people (or 7.79% of the total population of Douglas County). This makes Delmont the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Delmont represents 0.03% of the population of South Dakota (which has 814,180 people), making it the state's 227th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 234 people, the population of Delmont decreased 11.03% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 263 people).
