Coin Issued: October 16, 2000 - the 5th coin in 2000


Description: To celebrate the quadricentennial of Jamestown, the coin features the ships "Susan Constant", "Godspeed" and the "Discovery".

The ships "Susan Constant", "Godspeed" and "Discovery" brought the first English settlers (104 men and boys) to Jamestown. They left London on December 20, 1606 and arrived at Jamestown (named in honor of King James I) on May 12, 1607.


Statehood: June 25, 1788
