From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Mount Pleasant was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Mount Pleasant post office opened in 1807.

We also found Mount Pleasant in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
