Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, McClure had an population of 920 people. This is a decrease of 2.23% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 5.64% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, McClure had a population of 941 people. This makes McClure the county's 5th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 941 people, the population of McClure decreased 3.49% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 975 people).

We originally found mention of McClure in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for McClure was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the McClure post office opened in 1872.

We also found McClure in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
