Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Allentown had an population of 121,406 people. This is an increase of 2.86% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 13.86% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Allentown had a population of 118,032 people (which is 33.77% of the total population of Lehigh County). This makes Allentown the county's most populous community.

The population of Allentown represents 0.93% of the population of Pennsylvania (which has 12,702,379 people), making it the state's 3rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 118,032 people, the population of Allentown increased 10.69% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 106,632 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Allentown was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Allentown post office opened in 1803.

We also found Allentown in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
