At the time of the 2010 Census, Redmond had a population of 26,215 people (which is 16.62% of the total population of Deschutes County). This makes Redmond the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Redmond represents 0.68% of the population of Oregon (which has 3,831,074 people), making it the state's 18th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 26,215 people, the population of Redmond increased 94.46% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 13,481 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Redmond was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Redmond post office opened in 1905.

We also found Redmond mentioned on a train schedule titled Union Pacific Railroad Time Tables (September 1924).
