While we don't have a date for the founding of Rainier, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

The population of Rainier represents 0.05% of the population of Oregon (which has 3,831,074 people), making it the state's 119th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,895 people, the population of Rainier increased 12.33% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,687 people).
